Following the 128th meeting of the Research and teaching Deputy of IPPI, the formation of an active committee was endorsed to study and prioritize environmental solutions to pollutions engulfing our living surroundings. The aims of this newly established committee are as follows:
--Coordinating and performing research works to develop biodegradable polymers such as:
a) Synthesis and production of degradable polymers.
b) To study the formation of synthetic and natural polymer blends.
c) To develop natural degradable polymers.
--Reviving public’s awareness in bearing responsibility on environmental issues.
--To study the feasibility of replacing organic solvents by water in polymerization and polymer resin applications.
--To coordinate joint programmes with other organizations concerned to endorse and ratify the necessary standards.
The green polymer committee aims to fulfill the above tasks and invites all the researchers as well as the members of the public and industry to cooperate with this committee to save our living environment from various polluting materials.
