Research Interests                                                                                              

 
Synthesis and Applications of Polyurethanes
 
- Synthesis of necessary raw materials for the preparation of various kinds of polyurethanes including polyols, isocyanates, chain extenders and curing agents
- Formulation of polyurethane products, mainly those have industrial applications in Iran, including thermoplastic, castable, and millable elastomers; polyurethane coatings; polyurethane foams and polyurethane adhesives. Novelty in the formulations and fulfilling the customer needs are within my main aims.
- Preparation of novel biodegradable polyurethanes through the introduction of biodegradable functional groups in the polymers backbone, suitable for hard and soft  tissue engineering applications
- Preparation of biocompatible polyurethanes with low platelet adhesion and improved blood compatibility 
- Development of nonisocyanate route to polyurethanes using renewable resource based raw materials such as vegetable oils
- Development of new generation of modified polyurethane electrical insulators with improved thermal and electrical insulation properties
- Development of a new and versatile method for preparation of poly(urethane urea)s and exploring their application for bone tissue engineering
- Electrospinning of functional polyurethanes for biomedical and antimicrobial applications
-Development of novel antibacterial polymers for wound dressings and coatings of medical implants and catheters
- Antibacterial treatment of natural based foams for water disinfection
 
Synthesis and Application of Processable Thermally Stable Polymers
           
- Synthesis of novel monomers (diamines, diacids, dianhydrides, diols, diisocyanates, etc) with bulky pendant groups or flexible hinge atoms and their application in preparation of different classes of polymers such as polyimides, polyamides, polyethers, polyesters, and polyurea for high temperature applications with focus on fuel cell membranes.
